Many low-income families are unable to obtain conventional credit and rely on payday and auto-title lenders for small loans that come with predatory interest rates. This session looks at an alternative working in 13 markets across three states that allows local nonprofit organizations to serve as the lender for fairly priced payday loan alternative program that is both sustainable and scalable. To date the Community Loan Center has provided more than 31,000 loans in and saved borrowers over $17 million compared to payday loans. This webinar highlights how your community action agency can bring the employer-based Community Loan Center to the communities you serve.
