• Census 2020 and Community Action

    The Census is a critical process that affects us all. Census data is used to apportion representation among states, draw congressional and state legislative districts, school districts and voting precincts, enforce voting rights and civil rights legislation, and distribute federal dollars to states (including CSBG, Head Start, Weatherization and many more!). Community Action is playing a key role in making sure that every person is counted! This session will showcase Community Action’s role in ensuring that Hard-To-Count people and communities are included in the Census, and offer concrete tools and training to help front-line staff maximize Census participation.

  • 2019 Annual Convention

    The Annual Convention is designed to provide Community Action professionals and board members with the latest in policy and programmatic updates, as well as management and governance tools.

  • Demystifying Data Analysis

    Simple analysis techniques and stories from local CAAs will be shared to help agencies get started with a plan for undertaking the evaluation phase of the ROMA Cycle. Elements of a data-centric agency will be reviewed along with ideas about what is needed to have good data. Key items to be included in data collection, aggregation and analysis policies and procedures will be discussed. Examples of putting analysis of data to work during decision making will demonstrate how to USE data for program improvement.
