RACIAL EQUITY 2030

Racism is woven into every fiber of every American system; BIPOC have less wealth, shorter life expectancies, lower educational attainment—the disparities are seemingly endless. Established in 1964 as part of President Johnson’s Economic Opportunity Act, the Community Action Network serves 99% of US counties and is founded on the promise of changing people’s lives, improving communities, and making America a better place to live.  Keeping the Promise will combine our power, reach, and connections with innovative technology to ensure that promise is a reality.  We will adopt equity statements and update our Standards of Excellence with equity measures and create a Promise Seal—a coveted designation awarded to entities that undergo rigorous evaluation and demonstrate sustained systems-level shifts towards equity using the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) including racial healing circles. Our human-centered initiative will reduce the racial wealth divide in the southeast and ultimately across the country.
