SUMMARY:Trauma-Informed Care Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Part 1\, November 13\, 2024: Trauma-Informed Care: The Impact of the Work \nDirectors of Trauma-Informed Care from the University at Buffalo will be presenting on the impacts of trauma-informed care in the workplace. By describing ways staff can be impacted by the work (e.g.\, secondary traumatic stress\, vicarious trauma\, burnout\, compassion fatigue\, vicarious resilience\, vicarious post-traumatic growth\, etc.). Exploring trauma-informed strategies for promoting workforce wellness and resilience at an individual\, peer/coworker\, and agency level\, and wrapping up with accessing specific trauma-informed strategies that can be implemented by their team/agency to further support the workforce. The presentation will be open to any staff role but will be geared towards those in roles with influence in their agency – prioritizing the role of agency support in addressing the impact of the work beyond individual self-care strategies. \nPart 2\, December 18\, 2024: Demystifying Trauma-Informed Care \nThe CEO of Connecting Communities in Action and the Assistant Director for the University at Buffalo’s Institute on Trauma and Trauma informed care will take a deep dive into the 10 Key Developmental Areas of Trauma-Informed Care and describe how these influence the organizational change process. Review step by step guides for pre-implementation\, implementation and sustainability of the key developmental areas. Provide concrete examples of how one CAA implemented the trauma informed practices\, and provide tools for evaluating next steps in implementation. The presentation will be open to any staff role but will be geared towards those in roles with influence in their agency – prioritizing the role of agency support in addressing the impact of the work beyond individual self-care strategies. \nClick here to register for the webinar series.
