The listening sessions are a part of a national Community Action narrative change campaign initiated by NCAP’s Equity and Economic Mobility Commission\, representing every region of the US. We strongly believe that narratives have power and today as Community Action Agencies (CAAs) aim to meet the needs of diverse persons with low-incomes and communities\, there is an imperative now more than ever for its leaders to lean into the NCAP Vision and the Network’s foundational narratives which center equity\, hope\, and dignity. The invitation is for the Community Action Network to embrace\, care for\, and bring civility to ALL PEOPLE regardless of who they are\, where they come from\, and who they love. We care about the ENTIRE community. \nThe “Achieving The Community Action Vision” toolkit has been created in direct response to the Network’s request for language and tools to build their capacity related to equity as it is core to who Community Action is and needs to be in the future. This toolkit also aims to provide a national perspective that CAAs in every community can learn from\, draw inspiration from\, and embody. \nDuring the listening sessions\, participants will delve into the Achieving the Community Action Vision Toolkit\, exploring its comprehensive approach to equity and the shared language developed. The NCAP team will listen to specific feedback on the toolkit as well as curate stories that the entire Network can draw inspiration from and integrate into their practices to create a more equitable future for all people. \nWe hope that you will join\, Dr. Dalitso Sulamoyo\, NCAP Board Chair\, Denise Harlow\, NCAP CEO\, and Tiffney Marley\, Sr. Vice President for Practice Transformation as they lead the Community Action Network in this very important discussion. The working draft of the toolkit is available for Network review\, the final draft will be available at the end of October. \nJoin us to share your ideas and inform narratives and resources that will make a positive impact on the Network. \nWe look forward to engaging with you in these very important discussions. \nNCAP Vision\nA nation that creates opportunities for all people to thrive\,\nbuilds strong\, resilient communities\, and ensures a more\nequitable society.
