SUMMARY:The Solar Value Proposition: Leveraging Renewable Energy Now to Lower Your Operating Costs
DESCRIPTION:Solar energy is safe\, clean\, good for people and the environment\, yet in 2023 solar power only generated 3.9% of electricity in the United States. Why aren’t projects and panels popping up in on buildings and homes in communities everywhere? Because solar is complex… it’s new\, requires change\, and impacts industry and the economy; plus\, it requires strategy\, time\, and resources. \nThis webinar will provide insight into the roles equity\, community\, and justice play in Solar Energy. We will break down solar into bite size pieces\, discuss energy systems\, and how they can impact low-income communities\, people of color\, and high-risk populations. We will talk about eCAP- a collaboration between NCAP\, Cap Renewables\, and the Kresge Foundation to outfit CAAs with solar energy systems- and its imperative of energizing the CAA network’s influence and responses to climate shifts in our communities. Topics will include getting solar ready\, seeding resiliency hubs\, generating and sharing community energy\, and more. \nPresenters: Kendra Baldwin (NCAP) and Laura Miranda-Brown (Cap Renewables) \nClick here to register for the webinar.
