2019 Annual Convention

Pre-convention training will occur August 26-27, 2019. The Annual Convention is designed to provide Community Action professionals and board members with the latest in policy and programmatic updates, as well as management and governance tools.

Community Action: A Voice for Change

The Partnership’s Annual Convention is the largest gathering of regional, state, and local Community Action Agencies in the United States, drawing more than 1,000 attendees each year. We are at the table with more partners than ever before and our network continues to be at the forefront of program and community development. During this Convention, we will come together to showcase our strengths, strategies, and achievements. We’ll also share our best practices in management, program implementation, and capacity building. There is change ahead of us—for the better—as Community Action evolves, reinvents, and continues to achieve excellence.

Important Deadlines:

  • Early Bird Registration ended May 1st
  • Awards/Scholarship Nominations must have been received by June 6th
  • Discounted Registration ended June 19th
  • Pre-convention Pathways Open Enrollment Training registration ends July 12th 
  • Regular Fee Registration ends August 16th (Onsite fee begins August 17th)
  • Cancellations must be received in writing by 5pm EST on August 2nd.

This year’s convention theme is Community Action: A Voice for Change. Our General Sessions express this theme through a variety of topics including policy solutions, immigration and migration, health intersections, and community resilience.

This year’s convention is at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile. The hotel block at the Marriott is now sold out.
